Everything you need to know to join Otheryia and begin your Cobblemon adventure.

Getting Started on Otheryia

Welcome to Otheryia! This guide will walk you through everything you need to do to join the server and start your Cobblemon journey.

Requirements

Before you can join, you’ll need:

  • Minecraft: Java Edition (purchase at minecraft.net)
  • The Cobblemon mod (free — see below)
  • A valid Minecraft account

Step 1: Buy Minecraft Java Edition

Otheryia runs on Minecraft Java Edition. If you don’t already own it, you can purchase it at minecraft.net. Make sure you’re buying Java Edition — the server does not support Bedrock Edition.

Step 2: Install the Cobblemon Modpack

Cobblemon is a free Minecraft mod. The easiest way to install it is through our official modpack on Modrinth or CurseForge, which comes pre-configured with everything you need.

The Otheryia modpack includes Cobblemon plus all the additional mods we use on the server, pre-configured and ready to go.

  1. Download the Modrinth App or CurseForge App
  2. Install the Otheryia modpack:
  3. Click Install — the app handles everything automatically

Option B: Install Cobblemon Directly

If you prefer to manage your own mods, you can install Cobblemon directly from the official website:

  1. Visit cobblemon.com and download the latest version
  2. Install Fabric Loader for the matching Minecraft version
  3. Place the Cobblemon .jar file in your .minecraft/mods folder

Step 3: Connect to the Server

  1. Open Minecraft and click Multiplayer
  2. Click Add Server
  3. Enter the server address: play.otheryia.com
  4. Click Done, then Join Server

Step 4: Choose Your Starter Pokémon

When you first join, press M to open the starter selection screen. You’ll be able to choose your first Pokémon from a selection of starters across Grass, Fire, and Water types.

Tip: Press M to open the starter selection menu. Take your time — your starter will be your first companion on Otheryia! You can always catch more Pokémon later, but choose one you love.

Step 5: Explore the Spawn

The Otheryia spawn is a fully custom-built hub. From spawn you can access:

  • The Pokémon Center — heal your team for free
  • The Trainer Market — buy and sell items with other players
  • The Gym District — challenge the 8 gym leaders
  • The Notice Board — check current events and announcements
